Ancestry.com TV

While doing research on Ancestry.com, I discovered that I am descended from Salem witches. So, I’m speaking from experience when I say that Ancestry.com can be a fascinating and somewhat addictive experience.

But while folks who’d gotten a taste were hooked, it seemed that the uninitiated didn’t know quite what was in store for them. Enter a simple and compelling idea. Find people who are interested in their family history, but have never tried Ancestry.com, put them on camera and see what they discover after spending just a little time on the site. Not everyone has Salem witches in their past, and we wanted to communicate that real people can have real success with even a small amount of engagement.

The campaign features real people making real discoveries.

Margaret is a singer. Her dad brought his guitar and they did a rendition of "What do you do with a drunken sailor?" for us on set.

Tammy was so excited to find out more about her family, she brought her aunt to the shoot.

Susan recently lost both her husband and her father and was longing for a way to feel connected to her family.
